Puberty blockers for under 18s with gender dysphoria with be banned indefinitely in the UK because of an “unacceptable safety risk”, the Department of Health and Social Care, led by Wes Streeting, has announced.

The ban appears to apply only to trans kids using blockers to treat gender dysphoria; cisgender kids experiencing precocious puberty will still be able to access the treatment.

It is just the latest nation in Europe to restrict health care access for transgender youth, citing safety risks.
