"I thought it was a really hard-fought game, as this always is. I tip my hat to UC," Xavier head coach Sean Miller said. "I thought they (UC) had a couple stretches where we could've broken the game open. To their credit, they continued to show great fight."

The No. 22 Cincinnati Bearcats take on the Xavier University Musketeers in the Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. The upcoming game is meeting No. 92 between the Bearcats and Musketeers, as the two local teams will go head-to-head in front of thousands of fans to earn bragging rights.

Cincinnati was paced by Simas Lukosius with 14 points, 11 coming in the second half. Aziz Bandaogo played one of the better games he’s had as a bearcat, scoring 12 points on 4-4 shooting and 4-6 from the free throw line.

With 7:46 remaining, UC was down seven points but fought back to give Wes Miller his first Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout victory. The Bearcats are now 8-1 while Xavier drops to 8-3. There were 10 lead changes in the game with Xavier's last lead coming with just over four minutes to go.
