Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Joe Thuney spoke with reporters Sunday after the 21-7 victory over the Cleveland Browns. He addressed his surprising start at left tackle instead of his usual guard spot in place of D.

Browns defensive end Myles Garrett removed the visor from his helmet to improve his vision and it couldn’t have come at a worse time. On the Chiefs’ second touchdown, Garrett was poked in the eye by KC lineman Joe Thuney.

Following the Chiefs’ second-quarter touchdown against the Browns in Week 15, replays would show that Chiefs guard Joe Thuney inadvertently caught Garrett around the eye. Garrett ultimately left the game with a towel over his eye — before returning later in the quarter — but it was obvious that Thuney felt terrible about what had happened.
