Seven people were arrested in connection with a gang rape that occurred in Guwahati on November 17, after a video of the crime went viral.

DCP Padmanabh Baruah said the video showed victim unclothed and subjected to 'violent sexual assault'. She is yet to be identified, accused aged between 18 and 23 years.

The horrifying crime came to light nearly three weeks later when a video of the act surfaced on social media. According to police, the accused, aged between 18 and 23, filmed the assault and shared the footage online.
