After previously shutting down the idea, Sarah Michelle Gellar said she is now open to returning to the “ Buffy the Vampire Slayer ” universe. In an appearance on “ The Drew Barrymore Show ,” Gellar shared that she has been considering reprising her role as Buffy in a potential project.

Gellar portrayed the titular vampire slayer from 1997 to 2003. Into every generation, a slayer is rebooted. Though she has shot down the idea in the past, Sarah Michelle Gellar has some new thoughts on re-entering the hallowed Buffyverse.

The show ran for seven seasons from 1997 to 2003, and has only become more of a cult favorite in the decades since it went off the air.
