Toyota has unveiled the all-new Urban Cruiser, a compact electric SUV designed to make waves in the growing market for battery electric vehicles (BEVs).

Toyota revealed its latest all-electric vehicle today as the Urban Cruiser compact SUV. The EV, which will be fully revealed at the Brussels Motor Show next month, is intended for the European market, first coming to the UK in the third quarter of 2025.

Toyota just introduced a new compact electric SUV and dug into the past for inspiration. The new Urban Cruiser EV borrows its name for a car that first came along in the early 2000s and is based on the company's Urban SUV Concept unveiled last year.

Toyota has unveiled the Urban Cruiser, a brand new fully electric SUV for Europe which is heavily based on the Suzuki e-Vitara. The Urban Cruiser measures 4,285 mm (168.7 inches) long, slotting between the Yaris Cross and the C-HR in Toyota’s European SUV lineup.

Toyota is expanding its electric range. Following the bZ4X, the Urban Cruiser, a fully electric compact SUV, will be launched on the European market in 2025.

Toyota recently took the wraps off the new Urban Cruiser EV, which is based on the Suzuki e-Vitara. The Urban Cruiser EV will go on sale in global markets next year.

Anyway, the new Urban Cruiser is the Toyota-badged twin of the recently unveiled Suzuki e-Vitara, and it’s here to try and nab some sales from cars like the Kia EV3, the Volvo EX30, the Hyundai Kona Electric, the Skoda Elroq, the Peugeot e-2008 (and its Stellantis siblings) and the new Ford Puma Gen-E.
