North India is under the grip of severe cold wave with the temperature dropping in various areas amid a fresh spate of snowfall. In the plains, the states of Punjab and Haryana are reeling under cold weather conditions as on Sunday,

Cold weather conditions continued to grip Punjab and Haryana on Sunday while the minimum temperature dropped to 4.9°C in Delhi. Meanwhile northern Odisha remained in the grip of a severe cold wave — with temperatures in Mayurbhanj district reaching as low as - 10°C.

As winter season sets in, the IMD has issued a cold wave to severe cold wave warning in parts of North India. Meanwhile, parts of South India, such as Tamil Nadu, continue to brace for rainfall.

Delhi's minimum temperature rose to 9°C, easing cold wave conditions, but is expected to drop again over the weekend. AQI remains in the "poor" category.

Delhi-NCR faces yellow alert as temperatures drop below 5°C, marking the coldest December in 14 years. IMD predicts cold waves to persist until mid December.

The IMD has issued a warning for cold wave conditions in Delhi on December 13 and 14. The city recorded its coldest morning at 4.5 degrees Celsius yesterday.
