Former Hartford Mayor Thirman Milner is lying in state at Hartford City Hall on Thursday and family members as well as state leaders are gathering to honor him. Milner was the first Black mayor in all of New England and paved the way for future Black leaders.

Former Hartford Mayor Thirman Milner was memorialized and laid to rest on Friday. Milner left behind a massive and historic legacy. His life work will be felt throughout the community for generations to come.
