The St. Lucie County Christmas Boat Parade scheduled for this evening has been moved to Dec. 21, and the Martin parade has been modified, officials said.

For more than a century, the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade has thrilled denizens with a barrage of twinkling sailing vessels, offering a sensory experience that ignites not just festive cheer but the appetite as well.

It's the second year in a row the Marine Industries Association of the Treasure Coast canceled the event in Vero Beach. However, the annual Christmas boat parades in St. Lucie and Martin counties still are scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Part of Front Street will close for the Christmas Boat Parade on Saturday, with one-way traffic on parts of Harbour Road and The Lane during the event from 6.30pm to 9pm. Front Street, between Queen

The St. Lucie County Christmas Boat Parade has been rescheduled for Dec. 21. The Fort Pierce Yacht Club told WPBF on Saturday that the parade is being pushed back due to "safety concerns" without any specifications.
