NORTH TEXAS – The annual BMW Dallas Marathon is this Sunday, marking a bittersweet race for two North Texas friends who have logged hundreds of miles together. For Jamie Dildy and Laura Steen-Patterson, running and friendship go hand in hand.

Streets in Dallas will be closed for the BMW Dallas Marathon event, which is expected to draw thousands of runners to the city this weekend, according to the city. According to the city, additional streets along the race will be closed in Downtown Dallas starting at 7:30 a.

Road closures will impact several parts of Dallas on Saturday and Sunday, including Downtown, White Rock Lake and Highland Park.

Downtown Dallas streets will close Saturday at 7:30 a.m. and are expected to reopen between 10 and 10:30 a.m. On Sunday, closures will begin at the same time but will extend across the city, with roads reopening between 3 and 4 p.
