Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins says he was fined by the NFL for throwing a football into the stands to a fan after his Week 12 touchdown against the Tennessee Titans. Collins' second quarter touchdown cut the Tennessee lead to 17-13 in a game the Titans would go on to win 32-27.

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins made a nice gesture late last month as he tossed a football to a child in the stands after a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans. The NFL office took a different stance on the seemingly-innocuous gameday interaction.

The NFL wasn’t a fan of the memory created by Collins and slapped him with a fine Thursday afternoon. Collins said he was confused about why the league would fine him for a positive celebration. “I guess they think you’re going to poke somebody in the eye or something,” Collins said.
