A New Hampshire man is standing trial in Vermont for the death of his wife. Joseph Ferlazzo is accused of fatally shooting 22-year-old Emily Ferlazzo in Oct. 2021 while they were visiting Vermont for their one-year wedding anniversary.

After a multi-day trial, Joseph Ferlazzo has been found guilty of first-degree murder for shooting and killing his wife in 2021. Ferlazzo, 42, shot and killed Emily Jean, 22, in Bolton during their one-year wedding anniversary in October 2021.

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - A Burlington jury began deliberations Thursday afternoon in the murder trial of Joseph Ferlazzo, the Vermont man who prosecutors say intentionally shot his wife, Emily, on a vacation back in 2021. Emily’s family members, who attended the trial this week, say they are hoping for closure and justice.

Ferlazzo admitted to killing his wife back in 2021, but has plead not guilty to the first degree murder charge. Ferlazzo was back in court last month for a hearing to remove each potential juror that either the prosecutor or the defense believes could not evaluate this case fairly.
