Pakistan’s premier batter Babar Azam has etched his name into the history books yet again during Pakistan's second T20I against South Africa.

Babar Azam shattered Chris Gayle's long-standing world record during the second T20I between South Africa and Pakistan at SuperSport Park, Centurion. Batting at number three, Babar scored 31 runs off 20 balls after Saim Ayub opened with Mohammad Rizwan.

Babar Azam bagged a duck in the first T20I against South Africa, however, he was looking in good touch in the second against the Proteas. Babar has shattered a world record which earlier belonged to Chris Gayle during the Centurion T20I.

Pakistan batter Babar Azam beat the likes of Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle and David Warner to become the fastest to 11000 T20 runs during the second T20 international against South Africa on Friday at the Supersport Park in Centurion. With the ex captain achieving the landmark of 11000 runs only in 298 innings, he is now the fastest to reach there.

Babar Azam, who has scored 11 tons and 90 fifties in the shortest format of the game, is the only player to achieve this milestone in less than 300 innings.

Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam who made his T20 debut in 2012, now has 11,020 runs to his name in 298 innings. Earlier, Gayle held the record for being the fastest to 11,000 T

Babar Azam scored 31 runs from 20 balls for Pakistan against South Africa on Friday, and during the process he also completed 11,000 runs in T20 cricket.
